First entry...not so sure what to write.
I guess I'll start from the beginning. 10 years ago I was a senior in High School. I was a state champion in track and field and one of the fastest middle distance runners in the nation. I managed to get a scholarship to college and tried to compete at the intercollegiate level.
However, things in college didn't go to plan. I was frequently injured, and never really managed to run well. After two years of trying to run at the college level, I quit competitive running.
I got a bit depressed. There was no way I could run anywhere near as fast as I had been able to. So, my answer was to not run. It was depressing to think how slow I was compared to where I used to be. But, I never replaced running with a different form of exercise. I'd piddle around in the gym at times, but never with a focused goal. Overtime, my body has gotten out of shape, and I need to reverse the trend soon before its too late.
