Stoping the Crazy Cycle

First entry...not so sure what to write.

I guess I'll start from the beginning. 10 years ago I was a senior in High School. I was a state champion in track and field and one of the fastest middle distance runners in the nation. I managed to get a scholarship to college and tried to compete at the intercollegiate level.

However, things in college didn't go to plan. I was frequently injured, and never really managed to run well. After two years of trying to run at the college level, I quit competitive running.

I got a bit depressed. There was no way I could run anywhere near as fast as I had been able to. So, my answer was to not run. It was depressing to think how slow I was compared to where I used to be. But, I never replaced running with a different form of exercise. I'd piddle around in the gym at times, but never with a focused goal. Overtime, my body has gotten out of shape, and I need to reverse the trend soon before its too late.

Goals!

I'm late with my goals post this week.. Probably cause I've been confused as to what my goals should be!!

The 5k was AWESOME. So awesome. I want to go again and again! :D But the shin splints came back in full force again because of the run, so I haven't been sure as to what kind of plans I should make for the week.

Here are the definites:

1) Start and finish Phase 2 Week 4 of GHF BB plan
2) Biking class on Friday morning
3) Eat healthy

And here are some of the things up in the air.. To be determined by the state of my lovely shin splints :)

1) Possibly run another 5k on Sunday. I am pretty confident that I will be fully healed by Thursday (I've unfortunately been through this enough to know the time line :P ), so it is possible.. But I'm not 100% on it yet, since I need to find out if Debbie is still up for it or not since she was the one who invited me (not my choice to do 2 5k's right next to each other! :P ) *and* I do need to make sure that the shin splints are gone.
