First challenge

Hi,
My first challenge has delayed my progress in achieving my daily exercise goals. A close family friend died on Sunday and we're making plans to attend the funeral tomorrow. We have quite a distance to travel so my gym has had to take a back seat while we make arrangments.
We'll be stopping overnight so I won't be back until Saturday.
I intend to go to the gym five days a week so I'll start on Sunday.

Yesterday and today I took Amber on a two and a half mile walk so I have done something.

I have decided to bite the bullet and give up alcohol, I had stopped during Lent but slipped back into my old habits of having a couple of glasses of wine of an evening. A few years ago, when I was tuning in to my intuition on a regular basis, I felt I should give up alcohol and become a vegitarian. Since then there has been no firm committmenr just dabbling with the idea now and then.

Easy 45 Minute Cardio

I can't believe I just wrote that. I've been doing my prescribed cardio pretty regularly. When Julia said 45 minutes twice a week and 20 minutes on my weight training days I figured I'd be dying at the end of my long workouts.

Well, last night, I got on the elliptical machine, set it for Internval training and a time of 45 minutes.

It was a breeze. Now, my heartrate was in a good range. I was going easy on the low intensity sections and then bumping up the speed on the high resistance portions. It went so well that when I was done, I actually walked 20 minutes on the treadmill for a nice cool down.

Michelle's Journey Day 1

I joined GHF a week ago but yesterday was the first day I put it into practice. I realized I was not going to get in shape just reading everything on the site. hehe... I had my daughter take some "before" pictures of me the other day and I did not recognize myself. Who is this person? Well my goal is to lose 44lbs of body fat, get into shape, get healthy and stay that way with the help of all of you and GHF.

30 mins on the treadmill. Will start my weight training phase 2, week 1 tonight or tomorrow morning.

First off does anyone know how to make my picture smaller? It is huge.

Here are my day 2 meals.

meal 1
whey protien shake with water and a special k bar

meal 2
chicken breast and carrots

meal 3
tuna with lemon and carrots

meal 4
whey protien shake with water

meal 5
cottage cheese and small green salad

I'm not sure what I am going to do for excercise tonight but I will report that tomorrow. I don't like oatmeal or anything with wheat so I am again having a hard time with the startchy carbs. I know the special k bar doesn't count as a healthy starchy carb, it was in my desk drawer so I ate it.

Day 2- Better

Today was day 2. Better so far.

Last night I was so hungry after 3pm, even though I had more meals left for the day, I was still not satified. I woke up in the middle of the night and was hungry. I'm sure it's just my body getting used to this new way of eating. I was better today. I have attached my meals.

I'm ready for day 3, BRING IT ON!
