Just My Luck...

xfortylove@yahoo.com's picture

Okay...so from my exhuasted week/weekend, today I woke up late(11am). So, I thought to myself, "I shouldn't eat a 'breakfast' sized meal." So the first meal of the day was Meal 2. I'm not sure if that was a smart thing or if it mattered even.

(I drink water constantly throughout the day, so I get my 640z, at least)

Meal One: 3oz can of tuna fish mixed with mustard, unsalted sunflower seeds and fresh home made salsa (with lots of peppers and veggies). I also ate the tuna with 8 Keebler Club Crakers(2 servings).

Meal Two: 3/4's of a baked potato(with skin) with only fresh home salsa on it.

high-carb day

LNMaresca@gmail.com's picture

So I still haven't quite figured out the dynamics of this diet. I really need to sit down and map out my meals strictly according to the GHF diet. Right now I'm kind of loosely following it. But I'm all about small steps since I've been following the same eating plan for years. It was huge for me to switch to oatmeal in the mornings!

But today I had cereal. Special K, which I love. On my next high carb day I might mix it in with some Fiber One as well. I had my cereal with a banana and a small protein shake.

My achiness is gone today! Whew! Yesterday was really tough. I think that spin class in the evening really helped though. I swear, that's the best medicine for achy muscles ... more exercise. It's always worked for me.

I'm so happy...

xfortylove@yahoo.com's picture

Ya know, I've always been an overall happy person. I've managed to find a smile and happiness in most everything that happens. But, this program is by far the best thing I've involved myself with in a very long time. I just recently got out of a three year relationship and I wasn't expecting to feel this happy in such short time. A combination of motivation, eating right, working out, seeing results, and keeping busy just makes it that much better and easier. GHF couldn't have snuck up on me at a better time in my life. So, thank you Julia and Chad :)

Aside from that...

I just got back from the gym.

Don't Make This Mistake

laneerg@hotmail.com's picture

Exercise:

35 minutes strength training (Phase 1; Week 1; Day 1/2)

Food:

Meal 1: Oatmeal, Eggs, Protein Powder

Meal 2: Protein Shake w/banana & Rice Milk (more like a slushee!)

Meal 3: Veggie omlette

Meal 4: 1 oz almonds, baby carrots

Meal 5: Lentils, spinach, cottage cheese

Cals: 1247
Carbs: 160
Fat: 33
Protein: 93

So, you may be wondering what mistake did I make today? Right now I have a cannister of Hemp Protein Powder that I am needing to use up. It goes great in my shakes/smoothies, as well as the pancakes I made on Sunday. I guess you're supposed to put it in your oatmeal . . . NOT your eggs! Ugh! Blech! I barely made it through half of my egg/powder combo.
