Big Study, Little Wii

dukowitz@gmail.com's picture

I generally figure about 2 hours per problem in chemistry and after today I've still got about 40 hours more study to get done by Thursday morning - Time will be tight the first part of the week, especially w/ my final two bio exams on Tue & Wed night. I know I can still get my workout in Tomorrow morning but Wednesday I think I'll plan on working out with the equipment I have at home as far as the lifting is concerned.
I still have a couple turkey sandwiches left but might need to improvise on that as well once they run out, at least until Thursday afternoon when I won't have to take away from necessary study time in order to go shopping.

Day 15

TODAY IS DAY 15

Todays Thoughts: Enjoyed my workout this morning. I increased my weights everywhere possible and even managed to get in a little cardio on the bike. I'm going to try to fit in a 1/2 hour walk (by myself) this evening. My goal this week is to weigh and measure everything I'm eating. I think that my portions must be off because I should be losing weight and I'm not. While I'm not a slave to the scale, I would like to see it moving in a downward direction.

STATS:
Start: 7/14/08
Start Weight: 152.8
Start bf%: 37.5% (according to Tanita Scale)
Current bf%: 36.9%
Total lbs lost: + .2

Monday Workout

dukowitz@gmail.com's picture

Nice workout this morning to get the day started and a little Wii afterward. Weight only went up 0.2 lb but that's alright, I can't say I liked eating that late meal last night - just doesn't feel very good the next day. Dad wants to move the Wed workout up to 8 a.m. and that's fine by me.

I'm looking forward to having the extra time three nights a week after my bio class is over this week not to mention the extra time from not studying. It reminds me of a time I was cutting back on expenses to save money - when I cut back my cable to the most basic level, I would make transfer to my savings account on the day I paid my bill in an amount equal the what I was actually saving ...so it would really be saved. I'm thinking of the time "savings" in the same manner.

ONE DAY IT JUST MIGHT STICK

Robgalecole147@dishmail.net's picture

As you guys may or may not realized but I haven't posted for a couple of day or actually it's been about 5 days.

Last week started off really well, then on Wednesday, something just punched a hole in my bucket and all my good intentions fell through to the ground and all was down hill from there. Without going to any great details, my diet was shot to (H E Double Hockey Sticks). Then my family came to visit on Thur-Fri-Sat and that was difficult within itself to keep my diet in check and exercise. So there about 4 days that things didn't go so well. I was really down about it and felt that I had given up on myself. I actually thought about just quitting the program.

Survived parental visit!

ahumaciu@verizon.net's picture

My parents came to visit late last week and on Friday my inlaws joined us along with our 10 year old niece. Slight chaos in our house. It took Justin and me a few days to recover. We both took a 3 1/2 hour nap in the middle of the day yesterday! 3.5 whole hours of sleep - woohoo!

Food was ok, if anything I ate less because I was bouncing around making sure everyone was having a good time. We got mesquite grilled salmon, chicken and tri-tip on Friday and I ate the leftovers most of the weekend. The only bad thing is my MIL made a cake that no one ate because they were too full and now it is sitting in my fridge and hubby won't eat it (yellow cake with pineapple, lime pudding and cool whip). I feel bad throwing it out, but if I don't I will eat it all.

Anyone up for an August fitness challenge?

ahumaciu@verizon.net's picture

Rich the Cyclingmaniac started this awhile ago and it really helped me stay motivated. 12 weeks is a bit long for me to stay focused.

It is really simple:

Set a goal for the number of workouts you will do in the month of August and post it here. Report back occassionally as to how you are doing and help support each other to reach our individual goals. I usually post my goals in my signature and update it weekly.

My goals for August are:
walks - 15
Wii Strength and Yoga - 10
Wii Balance and Aerobics - 10
