More on Day 2

GHF@jennswebdesign.com's picture

Total water yesterday: 8 cups
Total sleep last night: 7 hours

Better on the sleeping thing, probably a combination of turning off the computer and working out for the first time. I was ready to go to bed before I even finished my homework so it was easy to get there when I was done.

Quick question: on the workouts, are you supposed to do the first collum and then go back and do the second? Or are you supposed to do one thing, rest and do that same thing again before going on to the exercise? Thanks for the clarification.

It's getting easier - thankfully

And so it should only be a matter of time !!

This week has been quite good nutrition wise.

A typical day would look something like this (or some variation):

Rice Bran Flakes & Organic Corn Flake Mix
Rice Milk with added Chickpea Protein

Meal 2
Refried beans
Organic Corn Chips
Snow Peas

Meal 3
Steamed Potato & 1/2 tsp Rice Butter
Marinated Tofu
Baby Asian Green Salad

Meal 4
Nuts of some description
Green beans or snow peas

Meal 5
Home Grown Eggs
Broccoli, Cauliflower, Zuchinni, Carrots, Green Beans

I have broken out the ProTrack program too but as yet haven't had the time to set it up properly - will get to that shortly.

Starchy Carb Question

kimberly.bronk@cox.com's picture

Ok, I cant find it at the moment, but last night on one of the many 'lists' I came across it listed peas, squash & corn as starchy carbs? I can understand the corn, but the peas and squash? I was kinda bummed because I'd had chicken and peas for dinner thinking it satisfied the protein/fibrous carb requirement only to find out peas were listed under starchy carbs.

Are there any other vegetables that are exceptions to the fibrous carb category that I should be aware of?

Zip, Zero, Zilch, Nada

I think a bit of anxiety Sunday night hindered falling asleep early enough to wake up in time for my morning workout.

I actually haven't been to bed since Sunday night due to pulling another all-nighter for today's test in ochem but it was worth it - grades have been posted and I did something I wasn't sure I'd ever be able pull off in organic chemistry - I got a 100% on the exam today!!!

YeeHaw! :)

1/2 Centry Man: Week 6 - The Monkey Walk

gregoris@cyberbeach.net's picture

I thought I was sore yesterday, but today I was so tight, I needed to stretch throughout the day or walk like a monkey. I was a little conscientious at work when I had a leg up on the filing cabinet stretching out my taunt hamstrings. It's not a familiar pose at work so I had to pick and choose when I could limber up.
I was a little leery going to my workout so stiff and after a 12 hour shift. Then my brother calls me up and tells me he'll join me.
I warmed up with a casual 5 minute cardio until i was warmed up enough to stretch out my kinks without breaking something. Then I went back to the cardio at a more challenging rate followed by more stretching and then the weight room, renovating mostly the upper body. The post workout sauna did a nice job mellowing me after a long day. It was also nice to walk upright again.
