Lifting
basically, I did the same workout as last night just with lighter weights. Although redundant, today's workout helps put us back on track for my dad to finish this 12 week program on November 21st which is when the rest of the family will be able to get together and I can give dad his trophy. :)

diet question

liz_heyman@yahoo.com's picture

I got my customized diet plan from Chad but am wondering about something.
According to the plan you can only have simple carbs 3 days a week, I'm specially thinking of milk, I was of the impression that you should have this every day in moderation of course. The same for fruits. is it a problem if we do eat or drink them every day?

Shoulder Press - shoulder popping

kimberly.bronk@cox.com's picture

Ok, so when I do shoulder presses (Db) my left shoulder seems to 'pop'on the downward motion as my elbow lowers past my shoulder - like a ligament or something is catching?? Who knows. I adjust my shoulders to see if their positioning will make it go away and/or minimize it. So far if I position my shoulders further back (stand up very straight) and not bring the weights all the way down, it minimizes the pop, but it doesnt go away. It's not painful, but is definitely weird, so it's not something I want to continue to hear/feel. I also dont want to keep doing it, if there's a potential fo

My "Reach" Goals

kielcary@gmail.com's picture

Here are my goals, and honestly these are quite a reach. I'm going to have to be incredibly strict in everything I do to attain these, and honestly I'm ok with that.

  • I weighed in today, October 21st 2008, at 244 pounds.
  • My body fat scale said 31%, which sounds about right.
  • I probably couldn't run a mile in under 12 minutes even if my life depended on it.
  • I can do 16 push-ups.
  • If I tried to do a pull-up, I'm sure I'd hurt myself before I raised an inch.
  • I can do about 20 crunches before I start whimpering.
  • I smoke half a pack a day.

My goals, which I plan to achieve by January 28th, 2009 - the day I turn 26:

1/2 Century Man- Week 8, Where's that #%*@%& Ashton Kutcher ?

gregoris@cyberbeach.net's picture

It's been one crappy start to the week and I only got in a 4km walk so far.
Sunday was to be my day off, instead I got called into work the night shift. The inconvenience of my shortened weekend was emphasised by catching a $300 rock with my windshield on my drive in to work. What I didn't anticipate was that The mine I work at just got the order to shut down due to the low metal prices. I had the unpleasant task of escorting 124 people and their belongings to their vehicles over the past three days. My windshield problem seemed insignificant in comparrison to what my coworkers were going through. My 12 hour shifts became 16 hours for the past three shifts. I could use some more sleep and a good workout to flush the stress from my system. Wednesday I'll have some time for a full workout...then I'm looking for that Punk'd dude!

Treadmill 3.61 miles, 62:00, 639 kcal, 491 vertical

I decided to change from hitting the 5k button on the treadmill, which only gave me 3.1 miles, to manually entering an hour on the treadmill which gives me a slight & reasonable increase in distance.
