315 x 7

dukowitz@gmail.com's picture

I finally made it out for a 2nd little workout today and was able to complete some of my August Objectives.

I benched 315 for a strong 7 reps. I didn't have a spotter so I had to stop while I was still strong. I think it was a fairly good bench considering how long I've been out and how light the weekly workouts have been. So far, so good.

I went to the park afterward to get in my first little bit of jogging this year :)
I'm using the C25K program as a guide, and including the 5 min warmup totaled 25 min and covered 1.59 miles
average heart rate was 137 bpm
longest distance jogged non-stop was 0.4 miles

Can you say sore?

xfortylove@yahoo.com's picture

I can! I'm so incredibly sore. And not being sore yesterday, I made an hour Pilates appointment for today! My friend's little brother works at my gym and he's trying to get certified so he can teach his own Pilates class and he needs trainee hours. I thought, "Why not?", so I signed up. He made me feel so "manly". He told me that I have over developed quads, I stick my chest out too much(it's a girl thing), my left calve is over worked, my traps are lop sided, my arch is flatter in my left foot, I have a "bulky" muscle type, My left knee is hyper extended, and I slouch...I mean, he just made me feel so not pretty and/or dainty, haha. It's okay, though, I'm a tough cookie. If anything, it just made me laugh. But all I was really thinking about was how interesting this workout would be due to my soreness. I was so sore that I couldn't really feel if my muscles were being were worked. He'd ask me, "Okay, do you feel it working in your hamstring?" and I just looked at him clueless, I had no idea because in every movement I felt soreness, haha. I mean, I don't think I worked myself out THAT hard yesterday, I just wasn't well-rested to do Pilates today. But, I did my best. He probably thought I was a weakling. :]

Actually lost weight

This past week-end I was at a bridge tournament in Baltimore, so that included eating out at some resturants that I usually never go to. I ate more in the 4 days away than usual, or at least I thought I did. My exercise wasn't as heavy as when I'm home but I did plenty of walking and some of the quick ab work outs. Got on the scale this morning thinking I would have gained 10 pounds and I actually lost 6 instead. I have some telling me I am getting to thin but still feel like I need to tighten up my waist and any other area that looks like excess fat or in some cases I know it is just skin (the down fall of losing over 100 pounds).

08/19/08

Managed to do most of the 30 day shred workout. Had to rest during a good deal of the cardio. But I did more than previously.
Have eaten according to plan all day. Need to start journaling food in the ProTracker so I can see where I'm getting too many calories, because the scale hasn't budged, which is quite depressing. I feel like I have done a good job on my eating and exercising, but am not seeing the reward.
