When in Doubt, Do it!

Another cold and windy day. Very beautiful but that cold wind ruined some of the enjoyment of being outdoors during breaks today.

I very much wanted today to be a day of walking outdoors but had nearly decided that it really would be too uncomfortable, also because I was a bit stiff as well with aching knees.

BUT then I decided that my mantra for February should be "When in doubt, do it!" so I drove home and with double layers and a scarf three times around my neck and lower face I started walking. I told myself that I would at least endure 15 minutes. I ended up doing 45. The first 30 my right knee kept complaining (not in a dangerous way), then after 30 minutes I think it gave up and I felt nothing more LOL. Then as usual my right foot' toes cramped up as they always do for a strange reason. They do that when I walk on different surfaces and in different shoes. BUT I COMPLETED THE WALK :-) and was very happy about that.

Results Since New Year

Julia asked me whether I had any results so I decided to put that in a blog entry by itself.

Since New Year
* Weight down
* Increased general muscular strength
* Less back pain
* Arm much stronger
* Able to do more cardio and at higher intensity
* Able to do more kinds of exercises, more sets and more weight each set
* Increased flexibility
* Into a habit of going straight from work to the gym or out walking.
* Into a habit of eating very healthy, lean, non processed food, lots of vegs and fish, whole grain carbs,
* very little salt
* very little artificial drinks mostly water with only a touch of nearly non kcal lemonade to camuflage the tiny clorine taste of all tap water. Also fruity teas. NO coffee. Always a literbottle close at hand.

Back on it!

Slept about 12hrs straight yesterday. Must have needed it! Anyway felt great today, had a morning shake and went to the gym. Did a total ab workout and 45min Spin Class. Good for 1220cals this morning! Up cooking meals for the rest of the week now. That'll keep me on track with my diet.

Wed, Feb 3 Workout & Spin

I was knocked out of commission on Friday & Monday due to illness - not sure what I caught but didn't even make it to school on Friday. Wednesday was another spin day. I found out we need to register before class to get in, even at 5:40 a.m. the class was full but one person was nice enough to let me take over their bike. I'm guessing I'll need to leave home no later than 4:40 a.m. to get there early enough to get signed up.
After school that same day I went straight to the gym to get in some lifting - it was a good day - made the legs into noodles in the a.m. and hit the upper body w/ the weights in the afternoon.
