Knee pain?!!

For the past few months I've been having sporadic knee pain - kind of a sharp, shooting pain in my left knee. No particular thing brings it on. For example, I'll be doing lunges and be fine and then.. TWINGE!! .. but if I keep going, it goes away. I've been trying not to do deep squats and no leg extensions on the machine. Anything else I should NOT be doing?

I have a stationary bike that is set so there is a slight bend in my knee at full extension. This also can make my knee twinge but not always and then if I keep going, it goes away. I thought bikes were supposed to be good for strengthening knees.

I have two boys ages 10 and 12. One is athletic and likes sports, the other - not so much. I'm looking for ideas for activities that will keep them active. So far they love:

Dance Dance Revolution
Wii - anyone have recommendations for very "active" games??
Trampoline
Sliding/ ice skating

Re-motivated!!

I've been listening to the mp3 series that Chad did with Dr. Frank Smoot and I'm feeling very re-motivated!! (They are available FREE on the site).

It is SO true that what you believe has SUCH an effect on how things will go for you. I like this example that was used: Two identical women both gain 15 pounds - one thinks that she is fat and is down on herself for gaining the xtra weight. The other woman thinks of it as "accidentally gaining 15 pounds" but still "sees" herself in her mind as the weight she started with. The second woman will have a MUCH easier time shedding the pounds.

I am 41 and trying to keep up my lifelong fitness routine. I've been taking care of my Mom to keep her out of a nursing home and it's VERY time consuming!! Just got some help coming in so I want to get BACK ON TRACK! Been doing pretty well since Jan 1st. I used to do bodybuilding competitions but I cannot eat like that for the rest of my life!! Trying to eat right but "keep it real"....
