got this horrid cold and it has completely flattened me the past few days.

First 3 days this week were great.
bought some whole grain protein infused pasta. (yumm) but I'm careful to weigh out my serving before I cook it. That way I just have the right amount.

can't recall what I had on tues.
got mon/tues/wed workouts in
thurs/fri - energy is just gone. focus on sleep. Hopefully can catch up this weekend if i feel better tomorrow after a long sleep.

manic monday indeed

wow, whirlwind monday.
Still have my workout to do tonight, but I will be doing it!
slept in this morning, so my breakfast was a bit rushed.

Down another 1.5lbs

meal1:
protein shake
wholegrain flax waffles (go lean brand)

meal2:
Protein bar

Meal3:
a few olives
humus & half a pita
veggies
blueberry lemonade

Meal4:
halibut steak
potatoes
salad

treat - half a serving of no pudge brownie sugar. (I'll bike hard tonight)

missed meal 5
will keep trying.

end of week 2

Well, tomorrow I'll take a photo of myself in the same clothes I did the "before" shots it, so I can see the progress. I'll let ya know how I did.

Today was great for windsurfing. Lots of working out.
But very bad for eating. (too much fun to get off the water and have a snack)

today
meal 1 - protein shake
meal 2 - fat free pudding, mini granola bar
meal 3 - 4 egg whites
meal 4 - halibut, corn, potatoes
meal 5 - protein shake

6 glasses of water
and I made some "no pudge" brownies from FF yogurt and had one square.

Got all my workouts in last week, so not too bad there.
I'm hoping for more off the computer time this week.

Day 6

Almost finished the first week.
-Got all my workouts in (still figuring out the weights that I should be doing to achieve failure)
-commuted to work twice (20miles of biking)
-did a number of power walks
-waged war against the damn blackberry bushes (we've called a truce)
-did the online ab class (oww)
-ran around a field for an hour or so, learning to manage a kite with a harness.
-up to 70 ultra slow crunches (before my neck gives out)

Nutrition wise, I haven't really hit the suggested rates.
seem to be around 1400 calories/day. (attached my breakdown for low carb day today). Going to get some protein mixes tomorrow to help with that part at least. I just don't see how its possible to hit 200 without them.

Day 3

Well, day 2(tues) wasn't too bad (let life wisk me away a bit). I managed to do an hour brisk walking (had an errand to do, so walked instead of taking the car). Meal wise was ok. Still ate my big meal at night and still under what I should be eating.

Day 3 I biked to work, which is about 16miles one way (yay).
In total did about 20miles of biking (factoring in train ride on way home).

Treated myself to a nonfat chai tea, but I'm making myself limit those to 1 per week as a treat. Bad habit for the hips and the pocket book to do every day.

Goals by Monday
-up my water intake per day to 6 glasses (pathetic 3-4cups right now)

Day 1 - labour day weekend monday

Well, while I have been trying to find my stride a bit, I have officially started the routine monday.

Its going to take more planning the first few weeks to keep myself on track (especially with eating 5 times a day).

I actually use to do that years ago when I was having stomach issues and I managed to get down to my ideal weight then. So here goes again.

Windsurfing this weekend was a blast. But I was horrible at eating as I was on the water most of the day. Who wants to stop when the wind is so good. So, the first day wasn't great for balanced meals throughout the day. Will try to be better tomorrow. Also hauling a sail around all day made the upper body strength workout a challenge. But, I did it :)

Starting off

Well, I thought I knew a few things about nutrition. I've been on weight watchers, followed the points system, and have success in it. But, I have been in a 3 month limbo, neither gaining, nor losing. Nothing more frustraiting. That is why I decided to join GHF. Get my system burning fat, and really take a look at the quality of my food intake, and how I can improve that.

I decided to use these first few days to see, while staying within my points, where that leaves me for protien, carbs and fat at the end of the day.

What I found out was a suprise.
protien was hit and miss...
