The Incredibly High Cost of Eating at Sporting Events!
I'm absolutely stunned and find it hard to believe how many calories I consumed at the Blues hockey game tonight - I got the figures from calorieking.com which has seemed pretty reliable but, ...849 calories in a bag of peanuts?! 804 calories in a brat w/ a plain bun??? It's just hard to believe - just a horrendously crappy ratio of fat, protein and carbs - just awful!
The end of the day wasn't so hot either. I thought I'd be getting out of work no later than 3 p.m. ...actually I thought I'd be working from home today until about 10 p.m. last night so, I ran out of food I brought with me a little after 2 p.m. and ended up raiding the candy jars in the office. (to the tune of over 1,000 calories!) hmmmm...
I think I ended the day pretty decent. I left the Blues game about 10 minutes early to avoid traffic so I could make it to the gym before they closed and got in my 8th workout for the month. I was pretty darned weak and out of it which, undoubtedly was largely due to my happy hour festivities last night.
Another good point is that I picked up a soy based protein tonight after my workout. It's from EAS and there isn't any cholesterol in it. I also found another Smart Start breakfast cereal by Kellogg's called Heart Smart which has an offer to get a cholesterol testing kit w/ three UPC codes and 10 bucks so I got the three boxes I needed and will send away for my kit to see how I'm doing cholesterol wise.
Regarding smoking, I think I'll be able to rationalize my way into doing the Chantix, probably by the end of the year and I think I'm going to include ordering that Quit Smoking book again as one of my October Objectives.
