4:30 a.m. but tonight it's for a fitness cause :)
at 12:01 a.m. the annual Moonlight Ramble kicked off in St. Louis featuring somewhere in the neighborhood of about 40,000 bicyclist, I was in the middle of the pack and it took about an hour before I reached the starting gates :)
According to my Garmin I burned 3,243 calories so I figure it's Pizza Time! :) (just kidding) ;)
This year they only let about 500 bikes through the gates at a time and while it took longer to start I didn't have to come to a complete stop anywhere along the ride. The actual ride was about 16 miles this year. I maintained an average heart rate of 146 bpm and hit a high of 178 - full details can be seen here ...

....OK, now it's 12:30 p.m. because I fell asleep and didn't post ...similar thing happened Friday when I *tried* posting but computer issues on my end made my browser go "poof!"
I was looking at starting the C25K program last night until I remembered the Moonlight Ramble and figured it would be best to save my legs for the bike ride. So, I'll save that start until tomorrow. I noticed the C25K.com page has links for three different podcast that can be downloaded to an iPod so all you have to do is listen to the music and when the beat picks up you run and when it slows down you walk.
If anyone is interested in the iPods and doesn't have one yet, the price has really come down and a refurbished 1GB iPod shuffle can now be purchases at the apple.com store for only $39.

almost forgot the redemption part ...I did end up w/ the highest grade in the class for my last chem test but it was still a somewhat lousy 72%. I'm pretty sure my retake was 100% so the average will come out to an 86% which drops my average in the class down to a 95%. I'm working on an available extra credit assignment for the class and will study all I can before our Final Exam on Thursday morning.
...then it's Break Time!!! :)
I attached some pictures from the Ramble. The first is at the beginning of the ride, second during the ride and the third blurry one is me after the race :)
