Any day above ground is a Good Day.

are there really significantly fewer opportunities to improve ones life because of the weather?

I did mention in a previous blog that people who are short of time but don't exercise are actually wasting time because the body machinery they're working with isn't functioning as efficiently as it could. Now I'm thinking in addition to time wasted due to a lack of physical prowess there's also time wasted with a less than optimistic attitude.

Time, thoughts, money - these are all things that can be allocated to provide for a better or worse future. This reminds me of an email I got regarding what various social economic classes buy with there money ...

What Do The Wealthy Buy on Pay Day?

The poor buy "stuff"
The poor buy 'stuff' - stuff on sale, stuff for the walls, stuff to play with - just 'stuff.'

The middle class buy "liabilities"
The middle class buys liabilities - bigger houses, boats, cars. Things that take money out of their pocket until what needs to be spent on those liabilities meets or exceeds what they get paid.

The wealthy buy "assets"
The wealthy buy 'assets' - businesses, investments, real estate - things that earn more money back on a regular basis.

Buy assets first. Build enough assets to buy a few liabilities, and then buy 'stuff.'

- but thoughts don't cost anything! why waste time thinking of crappy stuff that isn't going to change regardless of our thoughts?! Why waste time on thoughts which can't possibly help provide for a better future?!

Nobody would ever go out of their way to put money in a savings account with a negative return - to have less in the future then they do today so why do it with your thoughts?

Friday's Workout

Squats 45x15, 45x12, 45x12
Lunges 15x10, 15x10, 15x10
Calf Raises 20x20, 20x20
1 arm DB Row 45x12, 65x12, 95x12

Oblique Crunches 3 sets of 15 reps on each side

I also rode my bike a couple miles last night.

I only did the bar for squats but took it deep and focused on the movement. I have an opportunity now to work out on Sat and Sunday with a push/pull workout on each day respectively before the next official push workout on Monday. I might keep the push phase moderate tomorrow and hit the legs pretty good on Sunday.
