It's been a good weekend, even though Friday was not good for food - it wasn't terrible, terrible, but I know that I could have done a little better than I did (Does it help that I was travelling for hours?) Still learning I guess ...
But what was so thrilling for me was the fact that my 13 year old daughter was asked to perform at her district Cultural Festival competition (in front of 1600 people). I had made plans to travel the 2 hours to see her in the afternoon only to hear from my ex that the performance time had changed to be in the morning instead - we were dismayed because Jenna quit - she was scared and didn't want to make a fool of herself in front of her friends - she lost confidence because I wouldn't be there.
Anyway, we phoned the events manager, got a message to her that we still loved her and supported her no matter her choice (although we knew that she could do it) but that we would still pick her up at the school for the school holidays.
What a joy to arrive there to have her come running up and jumping on me to tell me that not only had she done it, but she had taken the trophy for *all* the grades competing !
But then to my astonishment, she told me that she had sung a song that her father had just written the words for and she had made up the melody, but she sang it unaccompanied too. Needless to say I was thrilled and very proud of her.
Just wanted to share my excitement, so back to business...
Anyway Saturday was work work work and unfortunately when I work hard I forget time, and hence, to eat. However I still got in 2 meals and a snack - yes I know, not good. Structure is not a natural thing for me yet - this is what I am learning ...
Sunday was better with good choices all round and 5 meals.
Oh, by the way, we took the girls scootering on Sunday afternoon and got the dogs off the couch for a walk. I felt ambitious and took them for a bit of a jog - it felt great to get back to it, but I was careful not to overdo it. I walked probably 4kms and jogged 3 stints of about 250mtrs each. My breath recovered well and there was not a seizure in sight - I didn't feel funny at all. It was good.
Today I got more exercise chasing about with grocery shopping and errands etc and my eating is on track too.
I still haven't got the food & exercise plans from Chad yet, but I have followed him up about it and so I think I should have something soon.
I think my challenge will be trying to adhere to the structure of what to eat when. Never mind, all is good and can only get better. Plus I realise that I am human and I am bound to make mistakes.
Wish me luck, and all the best to you all.
Kind Regards,
Joy.
