In the past 2 weeks we've had less than 2 days without snow fall. I love our winters up here, but I've missed regular workouts due to road closures, school closures and the gym equipment being moved to a new building on campus. The gym is closed again tonight due to the snow. That being said, I'm still sticking to my diet and I'm really sore from all the snow shovelling.
I'm thinking about getting some photos together and publishing a Snow Shovelling for Fitness manual (Snow NOT Included). Right-handed and left-handed snow pushing and snow throwing super-sets with increasing shovel sizes. The warm-downs will include reps of snow angels and the occassional snowball fight. There will also be safety tips about yellow snow and trying to stop the snow plow driver from pushing more snow into your driveway. ;~)
The bright side...everything looks really clean; the hills will open sooner for snowboarding and my arms, shoulders and back are getting stronger.
