Heidi received her Bachelor of Science from Winona State University in Winona, Minnesota. She has an in-depth knowledge of human physiology, kinesiology, strength training, cardiovascular fitness, exercise testing, injury prevention and management, weight management, nutrition, and supplementation.
Heidi has been providing personal training services and consultations to men and women of all ages and skill levels for over 10 years. She has a Certified Personal Trainer certification from the American Council on Exercise (ACE) as well as from Bally's Total Fitness and World's Gym. She has also worked at a variety of health clubs throughout the United States in management and instructor positions. In addition, Heidi has been an avid fitness competitor since 1996 and has been featured on ESPN and Fox Sports as well as in Muscle & Fitness, Ironman, and Femsport magazines.
Practicing What She Preaches
Heidi has entered various fitness competitions since 1996 and has won several impressive titles: the most recent was the 2000 USA Nationals in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she tied for first place. The title also enabled Heidi to earn a professional ranking with the IFBB (International Federation of Body Building). Other competition titles include 1995 Miss Fitness Wisconsin, 1996 Miss Midwest Fitness, 1997 ESPN Fitness Series (1st place), and 1998 Midwest Ironmaiden Fitness Championships (1st place).
In addition to competing, Heidi conducts over 30 instructional seminars per year as well as giving three guest performances per year. She also manages and promotes three of Wisconsin's largest body building and fitness shows and is a highly recognized and respected competition judge for fitness and bodybuilding. Heidi is the Wisconsin Chairperson for Women's Fitness.

"I feel that nutritional supplementation provides that added spark or motivation to a quality training and nutritional strategy. Many people get into trouble when they think of nutritional supplementation as the one and only answer, not as part of a complete program. In fact, nutritional supplementation should only be implemented in conjunction with a sound nutritional strategy (hence the term "supplement"). Nothing can take the place of a sound training and nutrition program.
Supplementation is not just for athletes but for non-competitive people as well who are trying to get into the best possible shape they can. Over the past 10 years, time after time I've seen the man or woman who would like to lose about 30, 40, or 50 pounds and doesn't know where to turn. They're depressed, unmotivated, and, quite frankly, not enjoying life. Then everything begins to change after they implement a well-organized training, nutritional, and supplementation strategy. They begin to get stronger, leaner, and more confident. As the weight comes off, they start receiving compliments from friends and family, and self-esteem and confidence grow exponentially!
There is no substitute for hard work and dedication. I believe that the following 3 components have to be adhered to in order to achieve maximum benefits:
- Consistent exercise
- A proper nutritional strategy
- A proper supplementation strategy
There are many skeptics out there who feel that nutritional supplements are ineffective and/or dangerous. In fact, they have a very valid point. There are many unsafe and ineffectual supplements currently on the market. That's why I am delighted to add my expertise to the GHF team of experts. My studies, research, and experience enable me to help people weed through all the misinformation that surrounds this important aspect of overall health and fitness.
