Linda Page, N.D., Ph.D.
GHF's Naturopathic Medicine Expert
Long before natural foods and herbal formulas became a "chic," widely accepted method for healing, Dr. Linda Page was sharing her extensive knowledge with those who dared to listen. Through what some would call an accident of fate but she calls a blessing, she was compelled to research alternative avenues of healing. Sequestered in a hospital with a life-threatening illness, watching her 5-foot frame wither to 69 pounds, her hair drop out, and her skin peel off, doctors told her they had no cure. With only a cursory knowledge of herbs, she began a frantic research process of testing herbal formulas and healing food combinations on herself.
She read voraciously about herbal healing. Good friends shopped for herbs and she began to formulate the many compounds which would eventually save her life, revitalize her health and restore beautiful new hair and skin and overall fitness. It was that incident that led her to seek her degrees in Traditional Naturopathy* and Holistic Nutrition** from Clayton College of Natural Health in Birmingham, Alabama.
A prolific author and educator, Dr. Page has sold over a million books. Healthy Healing - A Guide To Self-Healing For Everyone is a textbook for courses at UCLA, The Institute of Educational Therapy, and Clayton College of Natural Health and other educational institutions. Dr. Page also founded and formulated over 250 herbal formulas for Crystal Star Herbal Nutrition, which are distributed in health food stores and through practitioners.
Dr. Linda Page is a leading expert on natural health, fitness and beauty and she appears on national television, radio, national magazines, and she is featured at industry and organizational events. She recently led herbal and natural health educational tours to China, Southwest USA and Kauai, Hawaii. She is featured on the television program which aired on PBS, "The World of Healthy Healing - Unleashing the Healing Power of Herbs", which is also used in a course of study at the Global Institute for Alternative Medicine.

*Traditional Naturopathy recognizes the healing power of nature, incorporating diet, exercise, pure water, rest, sunlight and fresh air. A doctorate degree from Clayton College of Natural Health prepares each graduate to educate and empower the public to actively choose healthy lifestyle habits. As such, an N.D. who practices traditional naturopathy does not diagnose, treat illness, or prescribe drugs. The traditional naturopath focuses the client's attention on attaining, fine-tuning and maximizing his or her own homeostasis, or internal balance. This holistic approach incorporates health promotion by giving equal consideration to body, mind and spirit. It is a proactive model rather than a reactive (allopathic) model of health care.
**The nutrition consultant is an educator rather than a diagnostician. Clayton College's Ph.D. in Holistic Nutrition prepares each practitioner with a solid foundation in what, when and why humans choose to ingest or withhold substances from the physical body. Nutritional fuels include vitamin, mineral and herbal supplements as well as organic "living foods" and pure water. The practitioner's teachings include detoxification methods to eliminate harmful build-ups, along with nutritional education regarding each individual's optimal supplement program, and sharing the knowledge of healthy, organic foods as fuel versus unhealthy synthetic compounds and toxins.
